A coulis is a great way to add flavor to your dish whether it’s a dessert or something savory. You know when you go to restaurant and you get a slice of cheesecake and it has 3 to 4 little dots of strawberry liquid. It’s puree’d strawberries aka strawberry coulis. Today, I’m making a basil coulis from fresh basil leaves. Great for chicken (put a little squirt on the chicken then drizzle around the plate), tomato soup, pork….make your food fancy and delicious. Let’s Cook!

Ingredients. Basil. Salt. Garlic. Olive Oil.

Step 4. Add a few crushed up garlic cloves. The amount of everything totally depends on what flavors you like. If you’re not a huge fan of garlic don’t add garlic.

Keep pulsing until you get your desired consistency. Some people like a little texture and some people like it to be smooth.

Grab your squeezy bottle because you’re going to put the coulis inside. This is going to make it super easy to make dots and swirls.
